Apricot Cake Filling

Anyone have a recipe for an apricot filling that is smooth textured? I want to fill an orange flavored cake with it.

2 8.75 cans apricot halves, drained
1/4 c amaretto
mix in food processoe until smooth.
I got rave reviews on this in a wedding cake.
