I am going to create a car cake this weekend. I am going to carve and cover in fondant. For the grills, windows, etc, I am trying to figure out what will be the easiest. Should i make them out of buttercream or fondant. I like fondant because I am in Tx and the event is outside, but how i can I get the fondant grill to stick to the fondant car? I don't know how to glue them together.

try royal icing...that usually is a good glue to use!

I just read on here the other day to use equal parts water and meringue powder so I tried it...works great! Just a little dab'l do ya!

I only had a tiny bit to glue so I used 1 tsp. of each and I have some left over, how would you store that if anyone knows?

I think you should make the pieces from fondant. You could even paint them silver.

For glue, you can also mix some fondant with water to make a paste. That tip came from MrsMissey. I've also used just plain water rubbed on the back.

I usually just use water, but you can use your favorite extract too!
