Doing my first wedding cake for a friend of a friend next weekend......does anyone have a delivery confirmation/cake release document that they would be willing to share? Something that I can bring with me that basically says that the cake is stable and standing and looks good before I leave.

And....if you leave cutting directions.....where do you leave them? With the person signing for the cake?

TIA.

Often, you won't find anyone willing to sign for the cake. Take a photo of the completed cake for your records.

I give the cutting instructions to someone willing to take them.

Everyone is generally busy, and it is sometimes hard to get cooperation. You just have to do the best you can.

I have a release form that states the time and date of delivery. It also states the status of the cake once setup and complete. I also take pictures and leave a cutting guide with the wedding coordinator or anyone else who will sign for it.

I just created a basic setup/delivery confirmation in MS Word, nothing fancy!

Thanks guys! As my sil and I will be cutting the cake, at least I know it will be done correctly! Just need to make sure someone says the cake is OK when I deliver b/c the florist will be adding flowers to it (she will not let me do it). I'm glad I don't have to arrange the flowers, but I'm worried that something will happen to the cake when she's arranging.

Not only is this my first cake, but I'm also going out of town to do it! I'm in Texas and this wedding is in Mississippi! I am SOOOOOOOO nervous, but the design is pretty easy, so it will hopefully be OK!
