Hello everyone,
Till now I have only been doing cakes for family and friends, and I have been doing them for free. (My way of practicing). I just did a Thomas the train for a coworker's son, my gift to him. My boss has asked me if I could one for her grandson and how much would I charge. Here's where I need your help. How much should I charge? I am a greenhorn, I have no clue what to charge. I would love any advice y'all could give me. thumbs_up.gif

Did you use the 3D train pan? I charge $45 for that. All those stars take a long time icon_lol.gif !

I did use the 3D pan. You are right the stars take forever. Do you use a bottom cake to place the train on or is it free standing?

Depends how many servings a customer wants, if I put a small (11x7 or 9x13) single layer sheet cake under it as a base, I charge extra for that - $25-$35 depending on the decoration. Hope that helps! If I put it on a base, I secure it by criss-crossing bamboo skewers through the train into the sheet cake for extra stability.

I bumped this up to see if anyone else could tell me what they would charge for a Thomas the train using the 3D pan. Thanks in advance. icon_razz.gif

I charge $40 for most 3D pan cakes. (Then less for each additional one in the same order.)
