Gift Box With Lid Propped Open

Hi all! How do you make those fondant gift boxes where the lid is propped open and tissue is hanging out (among other things) Is the lid cake? and how do you get it to prop open....

i've seen a lot of oval shaped ones...those are really pretty...

i think some people use boxes and cover them with fondant

my lid was cake on its own board....and I propped it up with skewers thumbs_up.gif

shaped rice crispie treats = light weight lid

good advice from twinsline 7..on cakeboard and propped w/ hidden skewer

rice krispie treats! wow...that's creative. I bet that worked great! nice and light. Would even give a textured look if you pressed the fondant into the krispies....

cake on it's own cake board propped with skewers...how do you hide the skewers...fondant...a vine?
