Do you have to use a dense cake for ganache?

Ganache really isn't any heavier than all the icing that goes on a cake so I'd say no...don't need a dense cake.
Birthdays are just nature's way of telling us to eat more cake.

Just saw this Kristy~

You don't need a dense cake. A lot of people say you also need to ice the cake first before putting your ganache on. I have made 3 ganache cakes & they were fine w/out icing & really tasty! I haven't decorated a ganache cake yet because it doesn't last long in our house!
