I have just seen the fantastic tutorial for the Spiderman Bust cake and know someone that would like one.
However I have been asked if it can be done using fondant instead of buttercream - at least the red icing anyway.
Aaah does anyone know if this is possible? Has anyone any tips??
I did post this a while ago but no-one had any ideas and now I am getting desperate.
Thank you
I haven't seen the tutorial - couldn't find it - but I don't see any reason why you couldn't use fondant. I use it on almost ALL my cakes. Could you put a link to that so I could check it out? I might be able to see what you'd have to do.
I did a spiderman bust cake for my sons 4th bday... (pic in my photos)... My wighead was covered in fondant but the body was buttercream... but I don't see why the body couldn't be covered as well, he just didn't like fondant... would probably look great in fact...
Good luck!
Ranaejrk,

pb,
please post pics and let us know how your fondant spiderman turns out (and any useful tips you discover during the process!). I'll probably be making one in a few months, so that would really help me!

Thanks everyone I will let you know when it happens.
Lybby2000 your pic is excellent, thanks.
