Duncan Hines(DH) and Pillsbury both make FV mixes. I buy the DH all the time

I use DH also, with French Vanilla pudding added (small pkg, instant) and milk instead of water with 4 eggs. Soooo Good!! I've gotten rave reviews from this one.

Okay ladies...do you add anything to your cake mix to jazz them up?? I have always been a scratch baker but I have been getting a lot of requests for birthday cakes and my regular pound cake receipe is a little dry when it is baked in a sheet cake pan!! Any ideas or secrets??

I ALWAYS do something extra to a mix. I got the book Cake Mix Doctor, which got me started, then I doctor even more from there. I use milk (or juice) instead of water, instant pudding, 4 eggs instead of 3, vanilla (and other) extracts, sour cream, etc. People always think my cakes are from scratch. It's fun and sometimes I feel like a "mad scientist" when I'm in the kitchen icon_lol.gif

Thanks CC'ers

The cake is done.

I added a package of Dream Whip to 3 White BC mixes.

French Vanilla Flavoring
Vanilla Flavoring
Creme Bouquet
7 egg whites
2 whole eggs

It looks great and is very fluffy. And the scrapes taste excellent

I also used milk instead of water.

Thanks, you guys for the great ideas, but went out on a limb on this one.

I also had to make 24 chocolate cupcakes. And I don't even want to tell you what I did to those.
