I have no idea how much to charge for a stand up bear (the larger one that Wilton makes) I am adding some extra stuff to it, (a phone and flag) I was planning on just covering it with buttercream stars, unless someone has other ideas!

So how much do you usually charge for a 3 d cake like this? I was thinking maybe 50?

If you are covering this cake in stars I would charge a little more than $50 especially with the extras added to the cake. You have to consider the time it will take you to pipe all those stars.

My hand hurts just thinking about it. icon_smile.gif

I looked around at other web sites in our area and it looks like the going price is about 65 for a 3D standup cake. Thanks for your help!

I use the star tip to make clothes and the grass tip to make fur on my bears.

I have never played with the grass tip..it looks very time consuming!

I am making alittle t shirt for the bear out of Fondant.

Do you have a favorite recipe you use for a dense cake? I was thinking of just using a regular old cake mix, since its the tested method.

I use a regular cake mix but I add a pudding and a package of dream whip to it.

I have a recipe that calls for pretty much that, except you add sour cream, oil and water to it....Its a pretty dense cake. I guess it will work? Just never done a stand up pan before!
