LOL HORRIBLE!! I had one come out really pretty. When they dry and I get my camera back, I'll take a picture of them.

So I used a square cookie cutter and my idea was to make a copy of my husband's family tartan. First of all, carpal tunnel and this dont mix, lol. The blue totally didnt turn out the way I wanted. It should have been blue but not dark blue and I just couldnt get it with my coloring.

Oh well it was my first time. Learn from experience. Maybe I will try and do the beach theme for practice.

Don't give up because I am not! I am right there with you. I made my first cookies and they didn't turn out as expected. However, we have to keep at it and eventually we will get to where we want to be! icon_wink.gificon_biggrin.gif

I am with you on the carpal tunnel! What makes it easier is using squeeze bottles for the icing...

When coloring your icing, I use many different colors sometimes to get the color I want. I found this graph that shows colors and how to get them....let me see if I can find it.....

Found it....

I hope this helps. It's at the bottom. I copied it into Word and printed it and have it in my cookie notebook. It's soooo nice to have this on hand. I hope this help with your coloring issues.

Keep on trying, it'll get easier! Also try parchment bag. Since it's thin paper, it doesn't hurt your hand as much.
