What is the best type of cake to make in a 3D pan? Anyone have a recipe they know works great?
Thanks for the help,
Shannon

I usually use a combiation of a regular cake and a pound cake, combining the batters.

just used the white almond sour cream recipe in my ball pan which came out nice and dense (just don't use DH butter recipe golden!)

I usually use a scratch buttermilk pound cake recipe in either vanilla or chocolate - holds it's shape very well no matter how much weight (buttercream or fondant) you shove on top of it!

verdict is that the white almond sour cream recipe is TOO SWEET...anyone have a recipe for a dense moist cake that isn't quite so tooth-aching?
