I have a recipe that someone gave me that I posted a while back. It is the kind that is made like a bundt cake with holes poked in it, but the rum is in the cake batter. This last time I made it, I didn't get the syrup soaked in very well and I really liked it without the syrup. I thought it had a very good flavor. It didn't last very long either !!!

Here is a link to where I posted the recipe. Perhaps you can make this without the glaze and put a little rum or flavoring in your icing you use.

Hope this helps !!

why can't you bake the cake recipe in a regular pan instead of a bundt pan???

I don't see any reason why they couldn't be, or at least the one I posted anyway. icon_wink.gif I always figured the rum cake recipes I have seen have a glaze that looks pretty when drizzled down the sides. I think the next time I make this, it will be without the glaze and see what it tastes like with regular buttercream icing on it. icon_smile.gif
