Ok, I never did the course 3....didn't have time....but this fondant looks soooo interesting!!! The cakes that have figurines, etc...like for ex: the bathtub with baby and duck in fondant...is that solid fondant? Is the fondant dyed to those colors or purchased? Which is the best recipe to start with? I want to try this....How does it taste, by the way? i cant get over the "play-dough" look, so I am hesitant to actually try it! (Which might be a blessing in disguise because i certainly don't need to be sampling all of this cake!!)
Well, thanks in advance for all the tips!

Hi, FOndant is the only thing I use because I love it.
It is not messy, and it takes color really well. Yes, anything you mold is solid, except flowers, where petals are thin. See the photos that I have in the Gallery. The High Hell Shoe MIni Cakes, the Harvest Cake, the Gold cake. They are all made of fondant.. I mold them, I paint them etc... about the taste, well it is very similar to royal icing. It is typically very sweet...to me, it is the cake that matters more, when it comes to taste..you can buy them colored, but very limited. Pastel colors mostly

You can also make your own fondant....there's a recipe in the recipe section for Marshmallow Fondant that tastes better than the bought kind and it costs less to make it than to buy it.

You need to try it out, it's really alot of fun and when used to cover an entire cake, you start like usual, bake the cake, ice it in buttercream and then cover it in fondant except the fondant makes it so smooth.....alot easier than trying to get buttercream perfectly smooth.

I have few cakes made with fondant in my photos if you want to look at those as well.
