I found an airbrush kit @ Wal Mart in the model cars section. It's the full set for $65.00 and was wondering if anyone has tried it. It was called the Mini Master. It came with the compressor, hose, airbrush, and about 6 - 8 bottles of color (which I obviously would not need). I'm toying with the idea of buying it and trying it on my cakes. I've been looking at them for quite a while and want to buy one and thought maybe this would be a good starter as I have never airbrushed before. Any ideas??

I have no idea if this would work but it sounds like a good idea.

Here's a bump.

yes......it should work. Other ppl on here have purchased the same one. There are other threads on here about it. Just do a quick search. I also purchased one from Walmart a while back. Not the same one. I haven't had a chance to use it yet either, but I know ppl have gotten theirs at Walmart!

Mine is a diffrent brand, but it was in the model section of my local hobby shop, and it works great. I wanted something cheap to try before I spent a ton of money. And it works great. HTH

I would like to know too. I have one from Michaels that I got at 50% off but no compressor, just the cans, does anyone know if the canned air works just the same as the compressor?

so here's a bump

Thanks everyone! I'm going to buy it today. Also, will the Americolor airbrush colors work in that or do I need to look at some other colors?? icon_confused.gif

Mine works on the canned air and I have no problems with it, I have not however used one with a compressor, so I don't know if they are the same, but I have not had any problems with mine.

The americolor should work in it. Just make sure it is airbrush color!

I purchased the airbrush compressor kit at walmart($65). When I opened it yesterday, several important pieces were missing, such as the nozzle, tubing and bottle. So be careful. I returned it and bought the $23 kit with canned air. I just starting decorating cakes as a hobby, so did not want to spend a lot of money. It worked fine for my needs.
