I just ordered my used copy of "Rice Paper Flowers" by Margaret Hyde from Amazon. It should arrive next week. So looking forward to it.

I tried scanning and the scans don't look very good. Any suggestions? I'm happy to share the instructins with y'all but I'm not sure how to do it (other than saying "get out there and buy that book!" http://www.amazon.com/Rice-Paper-Flowers-Margaret-Hyde/dp/1856480720/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1300403567&sr=8-1 ) icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif

Funny thing, last night i was trying to find something for $2 -$5 to make my cart eligible for Super Saver Shipping....This would have been perfect! icon_cry.gif I got a new paintbrush that i didn't need....Not that I need this! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

To those of you looking, there is a tutorial on making rice paper roses. I think it is in the sketches and templates, or some other gallery. it's really hard to search on my phone, and my computer bit the dust. There is several pictures, and step by step instructions. Too fussy, if you ask me! I will make mine out of gumpaste, or buttercream...

I notice this post has gone on for years; so I guess I'm not too late to contribute. I have just taken a class (at Iced Affair in Sydney) on making rice paper flowers, including roses, (also known as wafer paper - much thinner and more delicate than the rice paper used for Vietnamese rolls. You can buy it at cake decorating shops, including Iced Affair.). It was surprisingly easy and very effective, striking and pretty. I am now experimenting with this amazing medium. Perhaps you could email Evan (www,icedaffair.com.au); perhaps, if you ask him nicely, he may make a tutorial.

All the best,

Cheryl
