Not really a new topic so to speak, just a disaster. My daughter was married at the end of May and I'm just now able to share. I had to transport her cake in 90 degree weather, hot AND humid..It was a 4 hour drive. Not bad, but there was no refridgerator for another couple of hours, after the rehearsal from $$@@#! The ex was there (dropping the "F bomb, IN THE CHURCH HOUSE!) yelling at me because his wife was making my daughter cry...(long story, won't go there!!!)anywho..after the rehearsal I went to check on the cake and the whole back side had collapsed! The MOST important cake I will ever make in my whole entire life, trashed! I had used the cookies and cream filling, yeh, that's right, silly me...not really thinking straight. We ended up putting lace and pearls and the winner part was the "blusher" veil, the short one to go over her face, well she decided not to wear it, so her cake did!!! That's right friends, if all else fails and you can't get the backside to look right, stick a veil on it! That is my disaster...
Do you have a photo to post, sounds like you did a great save. If anyone made my daughter cry at her wedding (or even rehersal) I don't know if I would be able to control myself...lol.
Good job on the veil idea!!!
Oh, I'm so sorry! You didn't need that on top of the other stresses! I'm willing to bet you pulled out a great save, though!

How horrible..I think I would have had a few choice words for him and then tell him to leave or his wife is not wanted there! Argghhh...glad you could make the cake work out though...please post pics so that we can see.
