You could use a regular buttercream recipe and add strawberry filling to it. I have orange filling that comes in a plastic jar like container made by CK. They make all types of flavors and you can place them in your cake batter and icing. Very tasty!

I think someone just asked this recently - check the forums and search for "strawberry buttercream". I know I posted a recipe - or a link to one - in that thread.

I was wondering about the "icing fruits".

It says they can be used for frosting and adding to cake batter. Can you also use them straight out of the container as filling. Is the product like a puree.

TIA

Yes, the icing fruits is what I was referring to. To me it is too thin to use just for a filling but it doesn't hurt to try. I've just used it in cake batter and icing.
