Looking for a cheese cake made with white cake mix. Bakery in town makes it and everyone is raving about it! I would love to try to attempt it. All I know is that it's made with a combo of white cake mix and cheese cake with strawberry filling. Thanks SOOOO much to anyone who can help. thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

Probably not what you're looking for, but I have doctored up cake mixes with Cheesecake pudding mix and it worked out to be very tasty! I'm looking forward to hearing the "real recipe" that you're looking for, though!

I would get one! That way you know when you are experimenting exactly what taste/texture you are looking for. There is a recipe in the CMD for new york style cheesecake using white cake mix.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but maybe you could tweak it to do what you want - it is a cheesecake and white cake recipe.

1 (18.25 oz) package vanilla flavored cake mix
4 (8 oz) packages cream cheese
4 eggs
4 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c sugar

Prepare cake mix according to package instructions. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13" pan. Set aside. In large bowl beat cream cheese, eggs, and vanilla and 1 1/2 c sugar til light and fluffy. Carefully spread over cake batter. Bake in oven 1 hr. Allow to cool.

I would go to www.cakemixdoctor.com and do a search for a cheesecake recipe. You'll more than likely get newsletters that have been posted in the past. That's where I got my Italian Cream Cake recipe.

I'm wondering if, yeah...

That recipe Dydemus posted is interesting.

Cheesecakes are the biggest part of my business. I don't see why you couldn't just mix up cake batter and cheesecake batter evenly (without over beating for granny's sake!) and see how it favors.

Hmmm....*off to mix one up*

I'll let y'all know.

CMD New York-style Cheesecake

1 pkg (18.25 oz.) plain white cake mix (divided)
4 Tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter, melted
4 large eggs
2 pkgs. (8 oz. each) cream cheese, at room temperature)
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup sour cream
2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Topping:
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup sugar

1. Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease a 13x9x2 inch baking pan with softened butter or vegetable shortening. Set the pan aside.

2. Measure out 1/2 cup cake mix and set aside for the filling.

3. Place the remaining cake mix, melted butter and 1 egg in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed for 2 minutes. Scrape down sides of bowl. The batter should come together in a ball. With your fingertips, pat the batter evenly over the bottom and 1 inch up the sides of the pan, smoothing it out with your fingetips until the top is smooth. Set the pan aside.

4. For the filling, place the cream cheese and the sweetened condensed milk in the same mixing bowl that was used to make the crust, and with the same beaters (no need to clean either) blend with an electric mixer on low speed until just combined, 30 seconds. Add the reserved cake mix, remaining 3 eggs, sour cream, lemon juice, and vanilla - beat on medium speed for 1 minute. Scrape the sides of the bowl. Pour filling onto the crust and spread with rubber spatula so that the filling covers the entire surface and reaches the sides of the pan. Place pan in the oven.

5. Bake the cheesecake until it looks shiny and the center no longer jiggles when you shake the pan. 35 t0 40 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven while you prepare the topping. Leave the oven on.

6. For the topping, place the sour cream and sugar in a small mixing bowl and stir with a spoon until well combined. Pur the topping over the cheesecake, and return the pan to the oven.

7. Bake until the topping sets, 7 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool, 30 minutes. Lightly cover the pan with plastic wrap and place pan in refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour, but preferably 24 hours for the flavors to meld. Cut into squares and serve.

*Store this cake, covered in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, in the fridge for up to 1 week. Or freeze, wrapped in foil, for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in fridge before serving.

Whew.... You can get the CMD relatively cheap at :
