My Frozen Buttercream Transfer Didnt Come Out

how was so upset my transfer didnt come out there were so thin when I took them out the freezer that there were damp and thin that they broke they fell apart, so I had to do it freehand it was my first time doing them?
My first one didn't come out that good either. The second time I did one, I did a picture with less details (which of course made it easier) and also I made the black outline and the rest thicker. The first time I did it, I am pretty sure it didn't come out good because the icing was too thin. Hope this helps. Don't give up!!
Make sure that the transfer is thick enough and you also smooth it out properly. I usually lay on another piece of parchment or waxpaper on the back and smooth it out really well before I freeze them. I do the smoothing also between steps just to make sure that the icing bonds properly. Don't give up, it will get better next time. Sorry about your transfer this time
don't feel to bad, your not alone . I just did one not long ago of a squirrel, and the top part of the head and the ears didn't transfer well, I had to try to patch it up and it ended up looking like the squirrel was wearing a toupee!! I think they sound a little easier to do then they are sometimes! You'll get it next time
I just finished my first one, and thankfully it did turn out well. I pretty much followed the instructions from this site. Did you put another layer of icing over the back after you were finished filling in? That would help it to be thicker. Good luck on your next one!
Im going to do one this week for a 4th of july cake, im just doing a star for the first time so I can concentrate more on the technique than the artwork.
I would suggest next time you either make it thicker, like merissa said, or try it on plastic wrap instead of wax paper.
Also...I think it would be best to put it on the cake IMMEDIATELY after taking it out of the freezer. It defrosts really fast!
I do at least a dozen transfers a week. I make them a little thicker and usually freeze them overnight. When you put them on the cake, you need to work quickly as they thaw fast. The larger the transfer, the bigger chance there is of breakage. As you can see from the picture, I made sure there was white icing between Spidey's arms & legs. I have found this makes for less breakage also.
I love all the tips you all have to share here. This is such a great site. We come, we share, we learn.
Wonderful.
DONT FEEL TOO BAD EVERYONE GOES THROUGH THAT IT JUST TAKES PRACTICE AND PATIENCE WHICH I HAVE NEITHER.
