icon_cry.gif Ok Another mixer later I am finished. This is my 1st attempt and a (practice) wedding cake. It still needs some work but I am happy. Let me know what you honestly think. The cake is white not yellow. For some reason when I use my digital camera whit looks yellow.

shhhhh.....lol. Since it was only a practice cake I bought them at Walmart. I figured it would be fine for picture effect.

LOL, well the reason I asked is because I was going to suggest that if you plan on using those particular flowers on the real cake that you might want to fill it in a bit more at the top because I see some of the stems on the top and you'd not want to see that on the actual cake....does that make sense?? The cake it self looks wonderful though. Is that that actual size of the cake you're going to make or will it be larger?

I think your cake looks fine. I'm just not sure about the flower arrangement. It seems to be too large...taking over the cake. Maybe change how its arranged. Hope this honest response helps.

I am just trying to make cakes so I can have pictures to show people. So they can see what I can do. I am supposed to make a cake in July (just a small wedding) but the bride hasn't told me what she wanted yet. Now I have to go buy a new mixer before I can make another cake.

what they said:
It looks great! did you mark you swiss dots first before adding them to the cake. Or is there some special tool to use to mark these? I was wanting to try that technique one day..

I probably should have marked them but I didn't. I didn't even think of it. Good idea though. Thanks

Another vote for the cake, it looks very good...the flowers are just too much. About half the amount you have on there would probably be plenty. IMO it should be about the cake, the flowers are just a finishing touch! Janice

Nice job... I like it better since you rearranged the flowers some.. more on the top, less on the side looks much better to me .. Really great job on it !!

Very pretty cake!! I think the flowers are still a little overpowering. I agree w/ Janice. The flowers should just be a finishing touch.

I love the dots & the cake is nice & smooth!!! The flowers are a very nice choice!! If this is your first cake then your on your way mjones!!! Great luck to you!!

This cake looks awesome for a practice cake. The only thing that I would change would be the floral arrangement. I,personally, think that there are too many flowers right there together. Try spreading them out a bit next time. good luck. I'm a beginner myself. Wish me luck...

I think it looks good. I would use maybe just the flowers and just place them here and there instead of one big arrangment. I would rather see more of your pretty cake!

Hi! You did a great job on the cake!!! I like to start with small arrangements of flowers and then go back and add more if it needs it!
