Can I use icing sugar to make the buttercream icing? Or, silly question, do I just add egg & water to the icing sugar? I have two bags so hopefully that'll be enough for my cakes! lol.

thanks in advance.

I have no idea what I'm doing! lol, I've looked up the recipies on this site, but then realized that I have the icing sugar...and most call for confectioners sugar...are they the same?

They are exactly the same. Do you want to make the white buttercream with butter and shortening? It doesn't have any eggs in it. I will be happy to get you a recipe for an easy icing to make and work with if you like.
