Hi, I have been looking at the recipes and found quite a lot, that I would like to try out, but I am not sure, what for example a stick of butter or Crisco or how many grams a cup of flour, Crisco or icing sugar is.
Could anyone please help?
If anyone has these ingredients lying around, please weigh them and let me know, pretty please?

Anyone? Bumping myself here, I found crimsicle's chart, that one is great, thanks, but I still do not know, how many grams there are in a stick of butter or crisco, I really need the info. Please help

I checked a couple conversion websites and one said a stick of butter was 113 grams. The other said 113.4 grams. So right around 113 grams for a stick of butter.

There's also a measurement converter in the recipes section in case you ever need it.

Here's a great chart that crimsicle posted a while back, with the weights (in grams) for different quantities of everything you'll need for cake and cookie making.

I printed it to put a copy with my scale, and it's very handy!

EDIT: Ooops, I somehow missed that you already found that chart! icon_redface.gif

A stick of butter is 1/2 cup, don't know about the crisco sticks because I don't buy them. Maybe someone who does can tell us how much they weigh.

Well does that mean, that a stick of Crisco is the same as a stick of Butter? If anyone could answer that, I'd be really grateful. Thanks for answering the other questions, I've already saved the converter in my favourites as well.

I was curious about this as well, so I did some searching on Google. I went to the Crisco website and couldn't find the answer, but I did find a couple of recipes that people had posted on other sites, as well as somebody's blog entry, that said that one stick of Crisco is one cup, so one stick of crisco would actually be equivalent (in measure) to 2 sticks of butter.

Oh boy Laura, that is confusing. I would have the stick of Crisco would have been similar to a stick of butter. Anyone else out there, that has a stick of Crisco, that they could weigh? Bumping this question up again.

Crisco sticks are larger than butter sticks. slejdick is correct...a stick of Crisco is one cup, a stick of butter is one half cup.

Thank you, I suppose my biggest problem is, that I've never seen either 1 stick of butter, nor 1 stick of Crisco. I'm putting that into my conversion chart now. Thanks very much, Butter here is sold by gram and the Crisco comes in tubs. So thank you all again, I really appreciate your help
