I finished my first FBCT cake today. They weren't perfect, but the cake turned out really well, IMO. There are some things that I didn't think about, like that the images will be turned over when put on the cake, so all the letters of my dh's name are now backwards. Happy Birthday honey! Here's a dyslexic cake just for you! icon_confused.gificon_eek.gificon_lol.gif

I ran out of green icing and just finished it up in chocolate. No-one will mind and it's not like I'm getting paid for it. I also did about half of the stars on the cake with my 3 month old sleeping in my arms.. icon_surprised.gif

I can see where I made some mistakes. Next time I will do the FBCT when there are no interruptions, for instance. My dh ended up working late and I had to prepare dinner and run after my toddler while making them, so they crusted over before I could smooth them. Anyway, I don't think they turned out too bad for a first try. icon_smile.gif

Next time you can go into your print settings and you might have to go into properties, but you can print a mirror image that way things won't be backwards. Just a tip for next time.

Yeah, I felt very silly when I took the letters off the board to put them on the cake and realized they were going to be backwards! icon_redface.gif Then I decided, what the heck, I'm not throwing them away! icon_lol.gif Won't make that mistake again!!

Thanks for the deciphering the lingo for me. I icon_biggrin.gif guess that would make sense. And makes me understand a lot of the conversations better. lol.

Great job! thumbs_up.gif I've had my share of experience with backwardsesness LOL. Take a look at my texas cookies. I hadn't realized they were backwards until I started decorating them. LOL. It really looks good though! Such cute animal designs... icon_smile.gif

Great job! I almost did my first one backwards too, but realized before I got done w/the outlining that it was going to be wrong, so I re-printed and started over

ROFLMBO about Dh being Dear Husband OR Duncan Hines! LOL.
