I want to try the easy MMF recipe here on CC and it calls for 16 oz of marshmallow fluff. Is this the same as marshmallow creme? Also, can you make this chocolate too? Thanks.
I just made the mmf today. It is very easy to make and work with. I bought a 16oz bag of marshmellows and used that. It worked great. I haven't tried making any chocolate.
Marshmallow fluff is a brand name. It is the topping that is sold for ice cream, etc. If that is what marshmallow creme is, then it is the same thing.
You can add cocoa to your fondant to make it chocolate. You would just add it with your powdered sugar.
I have also kneaded a little bit in later for color.
I also just use the 16 ounce bag of marshmallows. Then I add 3- 4 TBSP of water and some flavoring and melt it down in the microwave.
Thanks for your response 2yummy! I've tried the melted marshmallow version before, but this recipe calls for marshmallow fluff and I was wondering if this is marshmallow creme or something else. Don't you just love MMF. I tasted Wiltons Fondant just yesterday and it was so chemical tasting. Yuck!
AmyBeth - cute avatar! ha ha anyway, I will look into that ice cream topping. Out here the marshmallow creme is Jet-Puffed brand, but I will check there tomorrow at the the store. Thanks so much for the help.
Just typed in marshmallow fluff on my google bar and on their website it says the finest marshmallow creme in the world, so I guess my Kraft Jet-Puffed brand is the same stuff. I appreciate everyone's help! Have a very sweet day!
