I am making my first cake with mmf. I made the mmf last night and I colored it tonight. I love it! It is so easy to work with. One question though, can you over knead it? Thanks for any help!

Not that I know of. My experience is the more you work with it the easier it gets to work with, as long as you are adding equal parts sugar & shortening, so it doesn't get too sticky or too dry. Also, it is better when you use MMF soon after making. Other kinds of fondant should rest for at least 24 hours. Knead away. icon_twisted.gif

You can color the MMF while you are making it - it's much easier than trying to knead in the color later. Just add the color to the powdered sugar before you pour in the melted marshmallows. If you don't use the MMF right away, put it in a gallon-size ziplock and seal well - when you are ready to use it, take it out of the bag & place it in a greased glass bowl and microwave for a few seconds at a time to soften it up a bit - works great everytime! thumbs_up.gif

Yes, I noticed it took a bit of time to knead in the color. In this instance I needed different amounts of 4 different colors. But next time I will definatly add the color first. Thanks for the info!
