mmmmmmm... I think I am going to have to make some this weekend. All the ideas for stuffing sound so great!

I know... so many great ideas. I have been reading posts about chocolate covered oreos... done in molds.... mmmmmm.

aww man, and dh just bought me some gorgeous strawberries!! but they are for a customer, i wonder if she'd want hers stuffed too??? lol

This is great, never thought of this. I have two containers of berries in my fridge. I had no clue what I was going to do with them, but I guess that I will stuff my strawberries!!!!

Tip 21 works really well to cut a hole in the back of the strawberry and pull out some insides then just fill the hole w/fruit dip (or whatever...I'm interested in the cookie dough icon_wink.gif )

I also filled Raspberries and drizzled choc on them. My husband is in heaven. I used the choc. covered filled strawberries as the center of a sunflower on a cupcake bouquet for MIL for Mother's Day (belated) post pics when I can

this is crazy! i am soooo excited now! so b/c she has a patent does that mean that they cannot legally be sold? or do we just have to call them something else...

Hi ladies....this is my first post on CC...but I've been an active voyeur for sometime. I must admit, I crack up at some of the topics...I think I read the "I Hate Wilton" discussion from page 1 to page 53 last night...laughing out loud.

Anyway...I was curious about the stuffed strawberries...because I have been doing them for some time. I couldn't believe that someone could actually patent a stuffed strawberry. So I did some research on the US Patent website and learned that she has a patent application on file..but has not been granted a patent. She claims on her patent application that she "invented the idea" to stuff strawberries. Whether that is true or not..you may still sell stuffed strawberries until she is granted a patent. According to the government:

"The terms "Patent Pending" and "Patent Applied For" are used to inform the public that an application for a patent has been filed. Patent protection does not start until the actual grant of a patent."

Just went to Emingers and she is stating that she holds a "published patent" on the invention of the stuffed strawberry idea. She also states that "the premium product I present to you should never be copied." Hmmmmm......I saw someone else post that stuffed strawberries had been done prior to this lady doing it. Does this mean none of us can ever stuff a strawberry or any other berry for that matter????

Your post was very interesting. After I read it last night, I went and checked out the US patent site too. She is basically claiming that she invented the whole idea of stuffing a strawberry... hmmmmmm. Seems like she wants no one else to ever stuff a strawberry again. So she filed the patent in 2005. I did a quick search for stuffed strawberries and found a recipe posted back in 2002 for them.

So I'm going to look some more into this when I have time. I wonder if you can actually comment on patents pending to show that the idea existed before the person filed for the patent? I think she has a great product - but I think the idea was around long before she did it. I think she also has some great ideas for the stuffing. But again, I'm not convinced she invented it. I don't think she even needs a patent - she has a great product. Others are bound to try to copy - that is business.

In her web site though, she makes it seem like the patent has been granted. In the US Patent site - it is just in the application status.

I like the reality show "Top Chef" but didn't they do that last season? So I don't think that she came up with the idea. Plus I had seen that on tv years ago, actually I was a kid and I thought that was great than they showed stuffed olives and other little tiny things like that all stuffed. I don't know who it was, agian I was kids, I am 33 now, so imagine how long ago that was. I don't know who it was that I saw doing that but maybe someone like the great Julia Childs or someone like that before the Food Network and all those tv cooking shows were on, we only had the true chef on tv.
