Chocolate Covered Gummi Bears

How do you do this without melting the gummi bears? I tried this once and ended up with a big gloppy mess (of course, it still tasted good), and it was not aesthetically pleasing at all.

I've never heard of this and have no idea how you can coat them without them melting so here's a bump for you

The chocolate should not be hot enough to melt store bought gummy bears...are you making your own gummy bears or buying them?

What type of chocolate are you using? Real chocolate or chocolate compound? If using real chocolate then the temp should be around 90 Degrees F. and if you are using Compound that shouldn't be above around 100 F.

What temp was your chocolate at?

I was using store bought gummi bears and dark chocolate chips (Hersheys). I will have to get a candy thermometer. Where would I get one of those?? Sorry, you are talking to a newbie and I really don't know much about making candy. TIA.
