Need help real quick. I have made a red velvet grooms cake using the DH red velvet cake mix. The problem is it's bleeding through the icing. Seems every time I use this mix this happens - is there anything I can do to stop this? Help

Did you pre-ice (crumb coat) and let it dry before the final coat? This may help.

Yes I did pre ice. I made and put a dcrumb icing on the cake Thursday. This afternoon I iced the cake - now I see "red" coming through AGAIN. By morning it will be all over the cake. This has happened to me before but I thought maybe I didn't let it set (dcrumb) long enough.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm sorry! What kind of icing are you using? I use a shortening based icing and have never had this happen.
