Chocolate Box????

Hello, I posted this question in the "how-to" forum, but maybe it should've been here instead. I'm doing a wedding cake and the bride wants a chocolate box as the topper filled with strawberries that cascade out and down the cake. She has changed this cake several times already and I'm not going to buy a mold to make the box, for fear she changes again. How can I make a chocolate box without a mold? Thanks!

Pour tempered chocolate onto some acetate paper or wax paper and then after it has set up a little bit, cut out squares and a top to make the box, after the chocolate has hardened then you should be able to cut the chocolate all the way through and handle the chocolate without a problem. You can glue the sides together using melted chocolate.

Agree with pp... or you can use pretty much anything plastic that is the right shape as a mold. Think... you probably have SOMEthing that would work...

Has anyone used cake pans to make chocolate boxes? The six inch cake pan makes a real nice one, top and all. I use chocolate clay to make roses and leaves to put on top. Brides love it!
