Okay, I am addicted to this site! I am a newbie here and at cake baking. My specialty was cheesecakes and truffles but I decided to make a cake for my husband's birthday last week and now I can't stop. My SIL asked that I make my nephew's 1st b-day cake (I made a #1 cake, a smash cake and a cupcake cake) - Thanks Joann for the inspiration and help!

I appreciate all the hints and help I'm finding here. I can't wait to try the WASC recipe with the creamer & pudding. Although box mixes are easy, I was looking for a twist or a homemade cake recipe that was TNT. I'll have to add one more stop on tomorrow's to do list, lol. I will also research the extender recipe you are talking about.

I tried the raspberry filling on here and my husband LOVED it. I had never made a filling before so I had to look up what slurry meant, ha. I made my first FBCT too. I also took my hand at carving a cake, then making a cupcake cake with left over batter. Nothing like jumping in with both feet, huh.

There is soooo much to read on here that I try to do inbetween kids yelling for "mommy" or during nap and night time. My DH will fast resent that I found this site! I want to try a whipped cream instead of BC icing, making cookies, fondant, airbrushing.... so much to do and NO time.
