I was working late last night on some mini cupcakes to make a cupcake bouquet with today. I had run out of icing and decided to wait overnight to finish. Well, my DH got up during the night and saw that my cupcakes were not covered up and decided to put the lid on it. This is what I woke up to this morning. AAACCCKKK! All the paper had pulled away from the cupcakes...... icon_cry.gif Oh the humidity of it all!!! teehee...
O'well, live to bake another day thumbs_up.gif

Wrap the little suckers up in fondant "papers," if you have time to let it set a bit, or dip'em in chocolate or something. Blessing in diguise and excuse to experiment! icon_biggrin.gif (Assuming you don't have a deadline, of course... then it's just all stress!)

I would have thought that'd be more likely to happen if they were left uncovered. Men!

Dont scrap your bouquet idea....I say Definately dip these in melted candy/chocolate.... the chocolate on the bottom of the cuppies will stabalize them enough for the skewers to hold them onto your bouquet...not to mention add dimension and flavor....

and poor old dumb hubbies huh....bless their hearts icon_lol.gif

HAH! Love the replies icon_wink.gif
It has been exceptionally humid for us. West Texas is normally very dry. We have had tons of rain and flooding. We had the central air going, but it wasn't enough. I guess it was just to humid and the paper peeled away.
Thanks for the great responses!

I love the idea of dipping them in the chocolate ;.) Will the chocolate work with the lemon flavored cake and icing?

Just had the same thing happen to me...
Told my friend that I took the papers off so she would not have the kids leaving wrappers all over her house
WHY?? I do not know why the wrappers pulled apart from the cake, it has never happened to me before.
But the dipping in Chocolate is a good idea if you have time and your client is okay with it.

Sorry that happened, but I must chuckle (I'm sorry). At least he didn't eat them?? My husband is now scared to death to eat any baked items until I've given him the go ahead...he's not allowed near the kitchen if its baking time... icon_redface.gif (I know I'm mean) - dipped in chocolate with lemon icing??? sounds LUCIOUS to me! Two of my most favorite flavors. Give it a try and let us know how it turns out - you're hubby may have unexpectedly started something new!!!

I am sorry that happened. That sucks. I make cookie bouquets for my son's teachers last night. They looks so beautiful. I was quite proud of them until I woke up this morning to find half of them fell off their sticks durning the night. My kids were happy to know now they had cookies too!

Good things can come from mistakes!
I dipped those little suckers in chocolate. They taste awesome! The lemon and chocolate goes great together. thumbs_up.gif
It also felt like they hung on better to the picks.
Thanks for all the great responses!!

Hey Janette! Are you asking about the dipping in chocolate? If so, I got the suggestion from a CC member.
Thanks!

Yeppers, I used the 1M tip and made the rosette starting in the middle. Like the instruction that "cambo" has for her "How to make a cupcake bouquet" tutorial here on CC.
Thanks!
