i made a 1/2 sheet cake for a baby shower and i put the frosting on the cake i put in fridge and i ready to take out the frosting right in middle crack you could see the bread its self and dont understand why that happend it never happend to me before, i thought it might be the cake borde it was on it was really thin maybe the cake was to heavy for borde i was using

it was probably due to the cake being too heavy.. for me no matter how heavy the cake is, I automatically double up on my boards for the support

It was probably the board. I never use cardboard for heavy cakes.

Your cake was likely too heavy for the board used. What type of board were you using? or perhaps your cake wasn't level at the start??? that's diasappointing isn't it icon_sad.gif I'm sure it will still taste great though.

I've doubled my boards up before and still my icing will get little cracks in it.. I can't use my wooden board on all the cakes I do cause I'd never get it back .. getting it back is a pain too!! They're always going to bring it to you .. you call again and then never get it back until you go get it .. argh!! I hate it .. so I just do the double cardboard and pray the icing doesn't crack icon_sad.gif
