So how did it go? You dissapeared when you said you were going to dinner. Did you survive the night? Did the family survive? how about the cake? I can't wait to see the finished product. Hope you had a good time out with your son.

Looking forward to seeing the cake today.

Sorry for dissappearing last night was very busy!!!

I'm still not happy with this cake, I know the average person won't see the flaws but I do and so would all of you and I think that's why it bothers me so much. I would like to me in the same league as most of you, but am a ways from there! I could pick out so many numerous things that aren't right with this cake but I won't get into it. I am happy it's over, it was an excellent learning experience, and a huge challenge. I'm very nervous to see how people will react to the cake. I hope it's moist and tastes good!
Thanks everyone for the support, you actually made me cry! LOL! It's so nice to know that you're not alone when you feel like you are and you can turn somewhere for help.
I do love the beaver mountie, I was up until 3:30am getting him done.

you're right he is cute!!!!! (and love the maple leaves on the sides)

you're WRONG -- this cake is NOT a disaster, a mess, an embarrasment, etc.

Stand tall* and proud...you've done a wonderful job!


* which may require the services of a chiropracter after soooo many hours bending over this beautiful creation!

WOW!!!!!

This cake is awesome!!! It is going to impress them, I guarantee you!!! Love the beaver mountie too and the maple leaves around the sides are just great!!!

We always see the flaws in our cakes and they are never good enough.

You should be very proud!!! I thought of you working so hard everytime I woke up last night. Been waiting anxiously to see how it turned out!!

That is AMAZING!!!!! I personally get in over my head and when I look at the cakes posted, I sometimes I'll never be as good..let me tell you, this is one of those cakes..I'm sincere, the fact the cake is so huge, it's also even, colorful and the maple leaves make it. Now, go take a bubblebath, relax and EXHALE! You deserve it!

Oh my gosh, girl, you have so totally succeeded~! Make sure there is lots of advertising for you, and you leave lots and lots of business cards, and that picture is on anything you use to sell yourself.

Girl, once a cousin of mine was needing a dress in two hours while I was visiting her, she had the pattern, the fabric, the sewing machine, and that was it! So I, being the loving cousin I am.... LOL.... made that dress in two hours! I tell you, when I looked at it, all I saw were the errors I had made, but she was so proud of it, bragged and bragged and bragged on it, even had her senior pictures made in it! Nobody else ever saw an error, and it was her favorite dress for the next year or two.

Nobody else is going to see what you perceive to be the errors in that cake. I doubt there are any.

Be proud!

Your cake turned out WONDERFULLY! It's really, really level, too. (That in itself is huge.)

Gibson that looks FABULOUS - FANTATSIC - WONDERFUL - AMAZING - and any other words that mean you did an OUTSTANDING job!!!!

You undertook a HUGE task & definately SUCCEEDED!!! You're sure to get TONS of orders from this!
I know what you mean about only seeing the flaws but I promise that if you give it a day or so when you look at this cake you'll be as amazed & in awe by it as we are.

Wow!!! icon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gif That cake is amazing! You really did a great job. I can't imagine anyone noticing any little flaws that you see, they will just be in awe! To do such a big cake and get it level. Wow, I can't imagine. I love the bold colors. the flags and most of all the little beaver. He is so stinkin cute! You undertook an amazing feat and really pulled it off. You should get a lot of orders. By the way, how much did you end up charging for this cake?Whatever it was I 'm sure it wasn't enough for all of that work! You should be really proud of yourself! thumbs_up.gif

How on earth did you get it so level? I can't even get one 9x13 so flat, never mind 28 of them!!!!

How did you make the maple leaves on the sides? Were they BCTs?
