I have an order for a vanilla cake. I usually do the WASC recipe but was wondering how it would taste if I did all vanilla flavoring without any almond? Has anyone ever done this and did it taste ok?

Just vanilla is just as good - I don't care for almond, so I never use it in mine - I substitute vanilla or butter extracts.

I'm glad I read this. I am making a cake for my SIL this weekend and she is allergic to almonds. Vanilla it is!

If you omit the Almond then you are pretty much doing the basic extender recipe. It will work just fine.
