Has anyone every made a graduation tassel out of frosting?? I need to make one and any input would be great!!! Pictures???

i made the cake from one of the wilton books last weekend...it was the graduation hat on top of a square cake. for the tassle, i added more powder sugar to frosting, to make it good and thick....then i made a circle on top of the hat, and used a number 5 tip (or use whatever circle tip you have) and made the tassle go over the side of the cake (frosting was so thick it stood up) then made the tassle thingies on the cake board......later tonight i will ask my dh to help me post the picture.

Not sure if you would be interested in making it out of fondant but if so, I read that you press the fondant through a garlic press to get the tassle part! I've never tried it but it sounds easy enough!
