June's Theme: Father's Day

So remember, the group decided that all pictures must be new pictures (and new cookies). Meaning if you have a previous group of cookies already in your album (or in the forum) even if it depicts the theme you cannot use it. The idea of the monthly theme is to get our creative juices/new ideas flowing.

Use any medium to decorate your cookies. Fondant, royal icing, buttercream etc. The only stipulation is it has to be a medium used in cookie or cake decorating. So no play doh!! Very Happy

Please do not post monthly theme cookies to your personal album or cookie Gallery until after the monthly theme has expired. The reason for this is, as a group we all decided each picture must be new and not previously uploaded to the Galleries. Seeing that we have no way of knowing when pictures were uploaded this will help to prevent any squabbles about people using previously uploaded pictures.

Post pictures in this thread (Do not create a separate thread for your pics). Maximum of 3 pictures per person. You may however use graphics programs to create ONE collage of different pics/angles.

In your post please let us know which medium you used to decorate your Cookies. Also, if you could please let us know why you chose the design you did if the reason is not obvious. (For Example if the theme was Music and you made ghost cookies then let us know the connection. Ghost = Phantom and Phantom of the opera relates to music).

Have fun being creative. Look forward to seeing all your work.

Once again thank you all for showing more interest in this little project than I expected.

And before I forget to mention it, Bonniebakes has offered to help out with our little group. So feel free to ask her any questions as well.

Those turned out great!! I hope to get in on this for this month. Haven't been able to the last two months! icon_sad.gif I haven't tried alice's icing yet. It's on the list. I did make Antonia's and it is great! I wasn't sure about it at first when I tried it before putting on the cookie ( have to make sure it's ok to use right??) But after icing the cookies it tastes great!

Again, love your cookies!

Those are incredible cookies newcakelady! Love the bottle caps! Really great! Do they have "bottle" cookie cutters or did you handcut them?

I still have some Alice's icing in the fridge so I'll have to try thinning it down a bit more. *Do you not have a problem with the butter separating though? Seems I remember the color getting funky.

Your cookies always look so great!! thumbs_up.gif

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone.

Kos, I just used a wine glass and cut the bottle caps round and pinched the points out. I can see that in the squeeze bottle the color looks a little seperated after it has sat for awhile, but not on the cookies. And it's not seperated alot, I just shake it up.

Hi all!! So... these are my first cookies for the monthly cookie club! I was so excited that the theme was father's day! I had planned on making cookies for my grandpa so now, they are also my submission! LOL. They're nothing fancy and I'm far from happy w/them but here they are for all eyes to see! I had gotten a late start on them and was up till 5am trying to make them look purdy and I was so tired I couldn't think of any designs to put on them! icon_mad.gif LOL. But oh well, at least they're done. icon_rolleyes.gif

Tomorrow there is a "Father's Day Run" to raise money for prostate cancer research. A dear friend of mine is running in honour of her father and wanted to give a cookie to everyone who sponsored her as a way of saying thank you. I decided to make running shoes to fit the theme. The design is not completely my own, I borrowed some ideas from others I had a seen on the internet (Thanks to those for the inspiration). The cookies are chocolate which I cut by hand, and decorated with royal icing. Thanks for looking.

Hi everyone! I LOVE all of the cookies!! We had a great time at the Poker Tournament/auction fund raiser. I had never played poker but I was raking in the dough. We all started with $300 in chips and I was up to $13000.00 at one point. I wiped out all but 2 of my original players and I have to tell you I didn't know what the heck I was doing but I guess whatever it was it was working! Oh, I have to tell you my husband was the first one out and my mother-n-law was the 3rd one out. Now mind you there must of been 100-200 people there with 20 or so tables set up. My cookie bouquet went for $45. I talked to the gal who won them and she wants me to make her daughter's birthday cake for next weekend and her friend loved my cookies so maybe I'll get some business from this. I also won the raffle prize for a Poker Tournament for 50 people at my house!
