I'll bet it had that "forbidden fruit" taste to it - because it sounds absolutely SINFUL!!! icon_lol.gif

Haha, someone described them as something pretty close to sinful, if you know what I mean...lol

I made some today with godiva liqueur and andes mint chips for my dad for father's day. I hope we don't eat them all before I get to take them to him icon_wink.gif

I recently did strawberry cake with Smuckers Strawberry Ice cream topping dipped some in dark chocolate and the rest in white chocolate. A fight broke out for the last one!

I have also done triple chocolate fudge cake/hershey syrup covered M&M's and dipped in peanutbutter chocolate. Another BIG hit thumbs_up.gif

I did the same this weekend. Strawberry cake, but I used some juice from some frozen strawberries I had and dipped them in chocolate. Then took some white chocolate, colored it pink, and drizzled it on top. They were pretty, but no one cared about that. They just wanted to eat them.

OK! I just tried the S'mores thing! And I would only share with you guys! icon_lol.gif
I did: chocolate cake, with Marshmallow Fluff and a tsp. or 2 of milk for binder, with some crushed gram crackers, dipped them in chocolate and sprinkled more gram crackers on them! They were my favorite out of all the ones I did! (there is a pic under "new desserts" on my website)

Has anyone came up with a spreadsheet that they have shared? With the cool weather coming, I am getting in the mood to bake. Pumkin cake with cream cheese frosting as binder dipped in white chocolate. Yum!

I am the OP -- what a pleasant surprise to return after several months away from the site to see so many fantastic responses!! Someone had mentioned a spreadsheet; I do keep one, I didn't post it originally because there were so many I hadn't tried, and I didn't want to make any bad recommendations. After the request though, I'm happy to share. I do hope that everyone will post their comments/lessons learned on the ideas we've all listed out here, and continues to share their suggestions as well!

I have found the easiest way to store them for latter is to make the balls freeze, then bag. I can pull them out of the freezer and dip in a matter of seconds, and they are ready to eat!!! I love to send a dozen or two with every cake order, my customers expect them!! I call them Cake Truffles, it just sounds so much more enticeing. Thanks for all of the diff ideas some new ones for me to try!!

I know how to do this! I would need people to email me their recipes (and really good pictures would be terrific). It looks like I can do it for around $15.00 a book WITH pictures and around $10.00 without. (although this depends on how many pages we end up with).

Is anyone interested?

Happy Day,
Steph

I agree with Bobwonderbuns! There is a new thread in the Lounge called "RECIPE EXCHANGE". You should go there and post your fav recipes to share with others. As a new page starts in the thread simply print out the recipes on page one. CC is a wealth of info for a CC cookbook that each of us can print out right at home! icon_smile.gif

I have not read the whole thread so sorry if this has been mentioned already but...

I mix my cakeball mixture, put it in a zip lock bag and roll it out with a rolling pin to about 1/2" thick.

Then I freeze it 'til firm, then take it out of the bag and cut it into squares. Chill for a bit longer, then dip. So much quicker than rolling all those balls!

Made a few 'cheesecake balls' the other day:

1) Mix chocolate cake with cheesecake as a binder; dip in dark chocolate and roll / sprinkle graham cracker crumbs
2) Mix cheesecake with ALOT of graham cracker crumbs (chill well); dip in dark chocolate

These were yummy (yes - in my house we do have leftover cheesecake (only two of us!)).

nadjahs9 - Thanks for the spreadsheet - awesome!

Here are my most recent trials:

Pina colada - white cake, pina colada concentrate, coconut, coated in white chocolate

Chocolate orange - chocolate cake, orange extract, orange zest, coated in semi-sweet chocolate

Snickers - chocolate cake, caramel topping, Snickers creme (comes in a jar, kind of like Nutella), coated with milk chocolate and topped with peanuts

amysue99 how did they taste? Did everyone like them This will be my first attempt at making them. I am making the apple pie ones today, I am making a whole cake for a bunch. wondering does anyone use a doctored cake mix or just a store bought cake? Will a store bought cake be to light? I was thinking the cake needed to be dense? I have never made these before. so any help will be appricated. also do you roll them in the sugar and cinnamon while it is warm then let cool?

Darlene
