I was wondering if anyone had a recipe that "doctored" up a Lemon Cake Mix (box).......I usually add different things to my cake mixes (sour cream, etc.) to give them the "not from a box taste." I don't have a recipe for a Lemon Cake, but figured that there has to be one out there!!

THANKS!!

Over on the cakemixdoctor.com website there you can find a post for Marsha's Lively Lemon cake. That is a doctored mix and it is delicious. It is very lemony so be warned!!! Very moist - almost too moist. It is delicious though. I don't remember the recipe off the top of my head but if you go over there and search, you should find it. I believe it uses lemon cake mix, lemon pudding mix, lemon yogurt - or you could use sour cream and also uses some lemon zest. I think next time I make it I will leave out the zest. It definitely was very lemony. If you like lemon, you'll love it. The cake mix doctor book also has a recipe for Susan's Lemon Cake and that is very good but a much more subtle lemon flavor.

here's what I do to doctor a lemon cake and it's very easy......use a lemon cake mix, vanilla pudding, 4 eggs and orange juice. For some reason it comes out very "lemony" and doesn't taste at all like a mix.

hope you find a good one!
