Hi,

I feel abit bad about this one but I suppose there are always lessons learnt.

I did a cake for a lady this past weekend and she asked for directions to come and collect. The day of pickup she calls from her cell saying she is lost and can I re-direct her. It turns out she took a left turn at some point instead of a right.
Well, she called from a filling station and the attendant there said he knew where she should go and he will direct her. somehow she's still lost and calls again. She is now on a street that I have no clue of so I tell her that she should try to get back to the main road and I will come meet her. Well, she just decides she's had enough, switches her cell off and decides not to pick up the cake.
I try calling her and there's no answer. I had a bad feeling about this and is now wondering what to do with the cake. Well, I eventually get hold of her and she says she is now out of town already and she will call on Tuesday to discuss this. In the mean time I donate the cake to a home for the disabled which made me feel a little better.
Tuesday comes and goes and she still does not call so I call her today and she tells me that she did 'try' to find my place and it's not her fault that she didn't and that she was not going to pay me for anything. I was shocked and disgusted. Well, I told her a mouth full about what I thought of her and then I hung up.

Sorry this is so long......but I feel better now. icon_sad.gif

tell me about it! I can't believe how rude she was! I also had one this week, who just plain FORGOT!
I mean how do these people survive? buy a diary love!
I rang her and of course she wasn't home, but when she got home was at least very apologetic and told the truth that she forgot and could she pick it up tomorrow, but I was going out early for the whole day and ended up having to drop it to her work with my son in tow, which doesn't look all that professional.. oh well. It worked out in the end.

My customers used to commonly be late, the worst one just showing up 2 hours after she said she would and didn't even mention it until I did!
I know that I am a meticulous virgo, but I would never treat people like that and if I was running late, I would call them.

Keep your chin up and remember that people like that are the minority (thank goodness) and most customers are fabulous!

Whoa, it's your fault that she couldn't follow directions icon_surprised.gif Wow what a snot.

My worst was one of my big clients who orders from me a lot. She told me she would be by to pick up a cake at 11am. 11 came and went and around 1pm I called her to find out what was up. She was still in bed!!! She said that she doesnt do early mornings and shed be by to pick it up sometime that day. I ended up driving all the way across town to drop it off, I had stuff to do I couldnt wait around for her to get out of bed. She did pay me for my drive and a little extra for the inconvenience so I cant be to upset with her.

I can't believe what I've just read.

Wow!

That woman......ugh! It's not your fault, sscakes, you even offered to meet her!

And, with these people forgetting or sleeping in late?! I don't get it! Why did they order a cake in the first place?!?!

It really makes you wonder about people sometimes, lol!

I could understand getting lost, but if you offer to meet them, that should be fine. I can understand car breaking down or something, but just plain forgetting??? That just blows my mind!

Gads, that is my worse nightmare! I have had a couple of people send their husband's or friend over to pick up a cake and I get a "gee, didn't they already pay you?" I get a lot of phone orders/web orders and am starting to look into taking credit cards!

Sounds like to me that lady didn't want the cake. Who gets that lost after being given directions over and over again.

LOL.... my sister! It took her 3 months to remember how to get to work every day! And now after 7 years at the same job, if a billboard changes on her route she gets confused! ha ha ha ha ha ha
