I made the bride's white cake this week and it was delicious. It is up to you and what you are comfortable with. Good luck!

I say go with the bride's cake. Make it today and you will still have time to make something else if it does not turn out.
If you are making an 11x15 sheet cake, you will need to double the recipe, fill the pan no more than 2/3 high. This cake can sometime rise very high, so try to keep an eye on it in the oven. But it will also be more dense than other, I think I bake it 5 minutes longer than I normally would bake a cake.

I also think you should try the Bride's white cake recipe. It is delicious. This the recipe I use for most of my special occasion cakes. Everyone loves it b/c it is so moist.

The brides cake is more dense but not as thick as pound cake and it is definitely moist. I've made it 4 times now and it don't think I'll ever go back to making just plain mix again. I'm sold!

Yes, if you using the sugar syrup as your crumb coat. Make sure you let it soak in first before wrapping or you could end up with a sticky mess.
And yes, the cake will still be moist even though it is dense.
