The best way is to buy a cheap pair of high heels from a store. Rip them apart so you have the sole exposed and the heel attached still.

Blow your sugar bubble, stretch it into a tube, and begin shaping it and pressing it against the shoe form. This will flatten the base of the bubble and give it the curve you need. gently blow and shape it to a pointed shoe form and let cool. With a hot knife cut out the top of the bubble to create the appearance of a shoe. Decorate the raw edge you just made with a pulled sugar band. Attach the heel and it's done.

Ta DA!

it sound so easy, but i'm sure that in the directions she would make up for me, there'd have to be a step added for the emergency trip to the burn unit...

I know this may seem obvious, but how do I keep the hot sugar from sticking to the soul of the shoe, or will it just pop off when it cools?

I love your website - thanks for the information!

If you are using blown sugar it won't stick to the shoe. Just keep it moving, keep shaping it and be patient.

PLEASE post a photo here once it is done so us mere mortals can see!! icon_wink.gif

Couldn't even imagine doing something like this, although, someday, I swear, I will try the sugar bubbles. Anyone wanna come over and teach me? Can I bribe you with cake?
