I am making a birthday cake for someone that's child is on a gluten-dairy-egg free diet. She sent me a chocolate cake recipe but she want a chocolate and a white cake. Will this recipe work if I just remove the cocca or does anyone have a recipe.

Ingredients

1 cup white rice flour

½ cup sorghum flour

1 cup sugar

½ cup cocoa powder

½ tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp xanthan gum

½ cup oil

½ cup milk substitute

½ cup hot water

2 tsp CF vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°.

Mix together dry ingredients and stir to combine. Then add liquid ingredients and stir until well mixed.

Pour batter into a greased and floured 8 x 8-inch cake pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until the cake tests done with a toothpick. (Bake 20-25 minutes for cupcakes.)

Thanks for your help.

should work as cocoa is a flavoring...

only thing I can think of is, since cocoa is so "drying" you made need just a tad less liquid.

easiest way to find out: do a test run and adjust from there

Wow, you should really check out the recipe section on this site. They have some amazing recipes that are gluten-free, dairy-free, egg free cake recipes. I just had to make a cake that was totally dairy free and it came out awesome, thanks to this site. I use the chocolate mayo cake and added a package of jello pudding mix (which is dairy free). For frosting I used the basic buttercream recipe but substituted the buter for "smart start light" (which is dairy free). I also added 2 tsps. of mirange powder to stiffen it to decorate. I'll be posting the cake momentarily but it did get rave reviews. Please check out the recipes they are great!
