That is a HUGE change for such a short time frame!! Any chance there's an error or that it was on sale in April?

Just about fell out of the chair when I went to place the order....

When I get off the computer, I might call them to confirm - but right now I'm just SPEECHLESS!!! (lol)

If it is not an error, it could be the shipping costing them, and consequently you, more money. I read a report that said everything will be going up, from UPS/Fedex, vegetables (gas to get them to market) and airfare, just about anything related to fuel cost.

I did call the bakers kitchen and the $53.99 was the OLD regular price - NOW the regular price is $73.99 icon_cry.gif

If this increase is due to the higher price of gas to the supplier - I'd like to know where the heck this product is coming from!!!!!!!!

it may also be due to the weather. There are a few suppliers that i have checked out that charge a little more once the weather gets warmer to ship their items (or it cost more to get shipped to them) b/c they need to keep it cool. Granted shortening has a high melt temperature, however it can get hot in those trucks and better safe than sorry.

I haven't seen this with shortening, mainly only with chocolate, but it could still be part of the problem
