Is there a cake he**?!?!?!? icon_evil.gif
I'm gonna have to go with... YES!!!!

I have been there for 2 days now. Why, you ask? It goes a little something like this.....

I thought I was all cool and WAY ahead of schedual then it all went down hill from there!

1st I figured out that I made a 12" round, but really needed a 14" round... I apparently don't own a 14" pan... I figured this out at 9:15 PM... Micheals closes at 9. So I looked on Acmoore.com because I have a coupon and saw they open at 9 AM... "OK, I can still do it... I just have to go 1st thing and buy a pan".... THEY DON'T HAVE ANY (every size but). So then off to Michaels I go... WHEW, they have them. I buy the pan, got to Market Basket to buy Pillsbury mix.... NO LEMON MIX?!?! WHAT? OK, ok, ok... let me go to shaws... NOPE... stop & shop.... NOPE! Johnny's NOOOOOOOOOPE (but they have betty crocker) I'm gonna get BC.... (keep in mind I just read something this morning about BC changing the recipe and it now tastes yucky) ugh! too bad, I'm running out of time... and I have to do 2! (couldn't afford 2 pans) ok... so mix it all together, thinking, "man this is some runny batter"... get it in the pan, bake it... go to flip it out of the pan and.... it breaks in half!!!!!! (freakin' runny batter!) I can fix it!... get the other one going... keep running out of frosting cuz I'm icing the other 2 tiers and mixing the colors for the roses and have to make more, and more, and more!!! What the heck, can anything go right? NOPE, I run out of VANILLA! icon_mad.gif

OK, so my mom is all, "I'll take the boys for a walk"... WHEW.... I jump in the car, head to ACMOORE and look at the clock "2:15"..... OH NO, my DS has skating at 3!!!!!!! Call my mother, tell her to get him home, give him lunch and I will be home ASAP. She doesn't have her keys to get in the house!!!!!!! I turn around, SHE goes to ACMOORE, I go to skating... ahhhhh 1 hour of no cake! I needed that! icon_rolleyes.gif

OHHHHH, wait, I forgot to tell you about what else happened last night... so this is a 3 tierd cake... in between each tier there is a ring of pictures... my mom went to go pick up the pics from the lady and they were too big! I had to scan them all and resize them, print them and get them on the rings (Up till 1:30AM) icon_surprised.gif

So I get home from skating, and start putting the 14 inch together... start frosting and it starts buldging... and buldging...gravity has taken over! I can't get it smooth! icon_mad.gif

I can't take it anymore, I'm about to cry... finally I get the roses on and at the point that will have to do (delivery is in 20 minutes). Let's get it the heck out of the house and delivery it... Get to the place without any bad things happening THANK GOD!!! and begin to stack it... gravity is 1 pain in the tootie!!!!! It's sinking into itself and BLUDGING, not pretty... I am so upset, I forget what I'm doing and stick my finger right in it! NIIIIIICCCCCCE! Ok, fix that, watch it for 10 minutes it finally stops sinkin, but now looks like the leaning tower of Pisa get the final touches on and RUN!!!

I came home and thought I was going to throw up this cake had me sooo stressed! Hopefully it stood through the party! tapedshut.gif

So here it is, I do have to say, that for my first tiered cake... it's not SO bad, as long as you like the buldgy bottom tierd look icon_wink.gificon_cry.gif

I know all about Cake Hell, but your cake is really beautiful. You can't tell you had all those problems. I love the colors of the flowers and the photos between the tiers. I'm sure they loved it!

Relax. Breathe. Your cake looks fantastic and I'm sure your customers were thrilled. Seriously!

Nobody's worse about overcriticizing their creations than I am, but keep in mind that your customers are not a room full of cake experts. They don't see the little flaws that we pick apart. They see the cake lady come in and bring a beautiful, delicious cake!

I can't take the credit for this idea, I got the set from Wilton. Yes they are styrofoam disks, they come covered in ribbon or they have plastic sleeves to put the pictures in.

Looking back, and having a good night sleep after it all, I do have to say, it was a WONDERFUL learning experience! I know alot today that I had no clue about 3 days ago (including dowels are our friends and have LOTS of back up mixes ON HAND among other things!!!!!)

Again, thank you everyone! I love CC and can't wait to try the next tiered cake!

Your cake is beautiful, and you say this is your FIRST tiered cake icon_surprised.gif
You should be very proud of yourself, you overcame a lot of problems and came out on top.

Well done.
