What kind of bags do you wrap your cookies in? I was a Michael's today looking at the little bags they have and I was wondering if they are big enough for the bigger cookies? I am doing a graduation hat and also a longhorn steer head and they are bigger cutters. The bags at the store didn't seem large enough to go over the cookies. What if I use the sandwich bags and cut off the zipper part then tie with a twisty or ribbon.
It's just for a niece and nephew so it doesn't have to be fancy but I still want them to look nice.

I have bought the old kind of sandwich bags and just sniped the fold over thing, or the bags that have the twist tie that come with it, then use curly ribbon. They also have bigger bags in the party sections. I think they are 4 inches wide. They are pretty cheap too.

The sandwich bags sounds like a good idea. I'll have to use that if I can't find the right size bag.

Thanks for the tip.

No, don't go the sandwich bag route. Cellophane bags are not that expensive and they look wonderful when tied with a colorful ribbon. They come in all sizes. I buy them at Michaels often but those are not for the really big cookies. Do you have "Party City" stores in your area? They usually have a good selection of cellophane bags in a variety of sizes. I also have found good cellophane bags at the dollar stores in my area. Sometimes they have beautiful prints on them. Since I bake and package cookies so often, I buy my cellophane bags in bulk off of the internet. I buy hundreds of them at a time. They really really add alot to the presentation of your cookies. If you are going to continue to bake and package cookies then I suggest you buy cellophane bags.

Follow Heidi's advise! Your cake dec store should have some in all sizes or a restaurant supply. www.berylscakes.com is a good place to shop. You can call her or email her. Tell her the size of your cookie or cutter you are using and she will guide you.

Thanks so much for the bag ideas. Since I am new to this I never thought of using the cellophane party bags, (dumb me). I will make a trip to party city and check them out. Thanks again

I am in Party City all of the time and never thought to look for bags there! Thanks you so much for the info. I bought really nice size bags and they were 25 for $1.00 You can't beat that, I don't believe if you just want to run into a store and make a small purchase of them. Thanks again so much. Funny when something is right in front of you and you don't see it if you are not looking.
