Has anyone made the gumpaste recipe that's on this site? I've never used gumpaste at all so I don't know what the texture should be etc. Is it more or less like the fondant? And if anyone has made it homemade from this recipe, did it turn out alright, no problems or anything with it? I'd like to try it but wanted to see if anyone else has yet or had any tips on it. Plus it say's you can substitute glucose with light corn syrup, so if it's true for this, can I use it as a sub in some of the other recipes, like fondant, that calls for glucose? Maybe add to MMF? Thanks for any help or suggestions! icon_biggrin.gif

Nicholas Lodge's recipe is really easy to make...It's basically royal icing with some tylose mixed in. Here's a link to the recipe. http://www.nicholaslodge.com/gumpaste.htm He has a dvd that shows how to make it...He takes you through step by step.

I agree that the nicholas lodge gumpaste recipe is a good bet. I'm not opposed to buying the commercial version of it either, I swear it lasted almost a year!
