Tanyascakes was so sweet and emailed me the page from Colettes cakes to dream on for the basic instructions of a stacked whimsical cake. I used her doweling method.....
I made the square gift box, and dowelled it. Then, I cut a piece of styroam in a wedge shape and placed it on top. The cover for that square is actually the base for the round....
After I put the round cake on top, I drove 2 sharpened dowels straight through everything down to the base. Then I put another styrofoam wedge (covered in plastic wrap) on top.
The top of the round was the base for the pillow but I transported that part separately and placed it on top at the catering hall. So, when I walked in with the styrofoam wedge showing, the owner of the catering hall said "what is that, feta cheese?" ha ha....anyway,
the little girl was beaming when she saw it. I had a lot of fun making this one!
Thanks everyone for your compliments!
