Is there a Buttercream Cookie Icing that will hardern, so that the cookies can be stacked or won't smear as easily once they are put into bags or a cookie bouquet?

A lot of people tell me they prefer the taste of buttercream icing over royal icing, but sometimes the buttercream icing is difficult to handle on cookies!

THANKS!!

Thank you for posting this. I love Antonia's royal icing, but would like to try this too.

I wonder if it is like the one Cookies By Design uses. Their icing also looks like buttercream kind of icing.

I didn't have luck with Alice's icing being hard enough to stack, but I wonder if that is an environmental thing with humidity, etc. I don't like the taste of royal either, but I'm wondering if you could skip the meringue powder. Has anyone done that? I think that is the taste I'm not fond of.

Michelle: I don't like royal icing either and was even hesitant to try Antonia's icing. But I have to say that it is really good. Have you tried it?

marialovescakes,
Just wondering about Antonia's icing...I haven't tried it yet, but my issue is not so much the taste of royal icing because you can really doctor that up....my issue is that it'll break your teeth! Does Antonia's get super duper hard?

Actually no. Its nice and firm but when you bite into ti, its like something crispy but not rock hard.
