I'm planning to make care bear rice krispy treats. Bear shaped rice krispies with a white belly and a cupcake on the belly. Any opinions on if I should use royal icing for the belly or fondant? Will either work? I was worried maybe the royal icing would kind of end up lumpy looking because of the krispies, and the fondant may not stick to the krispies.

I would think you could do either. I have used buttercream on rice crispie treats. Just use a little piping gel or corn syrup on the fondant to glue it down. If you do the fondant, cut it out and let it dry some before putting it on it. If you put it on fresh it will form to the bumbs.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'll try a fondant belly, with maybe fonant cupcake on it, or maybe royal icing decoration.
