Did i mention.. it was also my 1st attempt at MMF!! i went pretty good. The beginning was just sooo sticky.. but that passed after some kneading.. well, i was done kneading.. i rolled it out and put it on my heart cake that I made for my MIL..... It went on ok.. it wasnt quite smooth,, little bumps here and there,, but i thought i did ok for my 1st time. So, i went back into the kitchen to get something.. came back out to my little 15 month old on the table!! HANDS ALL INTO IT!! OMG!! I couldnt even speak!! Just thinking of having to bake another cake.. make more icing.... and more MMF made me feel Faint!! well, what g-ma wouldnt want a cake w/ her grandsons little hands in it? LOL!
i kept the cake... and just filled in some holes. the front looks ok with the flowers where all his little fingers were.. but the back is awful !! LOL!!.
One of lifes greates treasures are Memories! LOL! well this is definaly one i will never forget!! I am posting pictures to show you! LOL!!
Your story made me think of my own 3 sons when they were little, lots of fingers in everything! Your cake turned out fine, and it's one of those stories you can tell when he's grown and laugh about it! Enjoy Mother's Day with him!
I can't believe those two pics are the same cake! You did a great job covering up your little guy's hard work...he just wanted to help I'm sure. Reading your post did give me a great idea for a cake. You could do one iced with crusting BC or covered in fondant and actually imprint children's/grandchildren's hands on it. Either leave an impression or put some color on their hands and leave a print (that's be fun to clean--LOL!). Maybe even include that fingerprints poem Mom's always get. What a cute cake that'd be.
Oh momof3 I am ROFLMAO, I can only envision your face when you first saw your little one, and I'm sure their face was as innocent as can be. Yes, that will be a great story to tell when your little one gets older. Nice save, can't even tell its the same cake. GREAT JOB!!
What a wonderful Mother's Day story!! You made a wonderful recovery. The cake looks lovely.
